Kerberos (Hell Hounds) Empty
PostSubject: Kerberos (Hell Hounds)   Kerberos (Hell Hounds) EmptySat Nov 19, 2016 1:00 am

Kerberos (Hellhounds)
These beasts are massive 'Hounds' who were once Tod Hunds (Death Hounds) but were deemed to vicious to be used and thus were sent to hell to become loyal to Satan and are tethered to either side of the gates of hell. These massive beasts were warped, twisted to become a demon who only desire to devour the people thrown at their feet. Hell Hounds have been starved and are switched out at the gates on a daily basis, only being fed once or twice a rotation.

Collars
Like the Tod Hund, Kerberos also wear collars that are placed around their necks once they've been placed in hell. Called Torque, they are not normal collars by any means. From the moment that a Kerberos is drug to hell, the Torque is chosen for them. The Torque that a Hound gets is based on the power and wavelength of their energy and soul and placed around their neck since the day they enter the gates of hell. The Torque from that point is never again removed but changes and grows with the Hound.

The only one to remove the collar from the Hound is their master, although that is a rare occurrence and is said to only to happen upon the death of a hound.

Leash
Called a Curb, it is not a Leash as in a means of training. It is instead a means of restraint. These nearly unbreakable restraints are used to tether a Hound to the gates so that they can't run once the gates are summoned to the surface by a Reaper.

When not in use, the leash does not come off of the collar. Unlike a Tod Hund's Seorihm that will never be able to be reattached once it is unattached, The Curb of a Hellhound is meant to be unattached and reattached with each swap of a Hound at the gates.. However, like the Seorihm, a master of a particular Hellhound can attach a more personal Curb and this one will act in a similar fashion to a Tod Hund's Seorihm, going into the Torque and reappearing when the master needs it to return to his hand in order to communicate silently with the Hound.

Ranks

  • Hróðvitnir (Fenris)- King of the Hellhounds, this massive beast of a Hound is said to be so tall his head crests the clouds should he ever be set loose on the earth. However, do not let his normally massive size fool you. He has the ability to change his size at will and commands the Hellhounds from the depths of hell beside his master.

  • Cerberus- A large, violent Hound who serves second in rank to the Fenris. The common depiction of a Cerberus in Greek mythology and art is as having three heads. In most works, the three heads respectively see and represent the past, the present, and the future, while other sources suggest the heads represent birth, youth, and old age. Each of a Cerberus' heads is said to have an appetite only for live meat and thus allow only the spirits of the dead to freely enter the underworld, but allow none to leave. Cerberus were always employed as Hades' loyal watchdogs, and guarded the gates that granted access and exit to the underworld.

  • Orthrus- Coming in as the same size and ferocity as the Cerberus, Orthrus are weaker in strength and power of their commonly three-headed brothers. In most works, the two heads respectively see and represent the past and the present, while other sources suggest the heads represent youth and old age. Each of a Orthrus' heads is said to have an appetite only for dead meat and thus allow only the living to freely enter an area they're set to guard, but allow none to leave.

  • Perro Negro (Black Hound)- A being said to be found primarily in the folklores of the British Isles. The black dog is a large Black Hound. It is generally supposed to be larger than a normal dog, and often has large, glowing eyes, often associated with electrical storms, crossroads, places of execution and ancient pathways.

Black dogs are almost universally regarded as malevolent, and a few are said to be directly harmful. Its appearance was regarded as a portent of death, while exact abilities vary wildly between different variations.

Classes

  • Cadejo- The eyes of the Cadejo are said to be like looking into the eyes of something evil and cruel, enough to bring about instant fear to those who catch but a glimpse of them. A massive Hound that appears to be wounded to the traveler it's feet have red hot chains around the ankles, capable of making a sound that drives a person mad before they tear them apart with there claws they are they head or the first of the hounds all others follow this one. As he sits at the top equal the the Anubis hound of the Tod Hund.

  • Black Shuck- A Large Hound with malevolent flaming eyes (or a single eye) that is red or alternatively green. This Hound is ranked second to the Cadejo, and like him it is his job to keep the living away from the gates and keep those who had fallen past them rightfully so in.

  • Barghest- Monstrous Hound with huge teeth and claws. The barghest is often given leeway to run up and down the river styx and so it does looking for 'lost' souls that stink of corruption and evil attempting to escape there fate and devour them to bring them back to where they belong.

  • Padfoot- A shape-shifting beast whose favorite shape is that of a giant dog walking on two or three legs, whose name comes from the padding sound it makes as it walks behind someone. Sometimes the creature can be seen, and at other times is invisible, but is always accompanied by the sound of roaring or dragging chains. This is the last of the hounds....some say it's not completely fallen into the pits yet and wanders into and out of them freely shifting into and out of the shape of a hound completely 'mad' they often lure the those in and are drawn in by the scent of fear.

Special Classes

  • Hiza Inu (膝犬 "Lap Dog")- Though special for their luck in being granted a place by a commander of a legion or other demon's side, Hiza Inu are considered to be mutts by other Hellhounds because of their "pampered" lifestyles. They're given special treatment because they belong to someone or are summoned to the outside world by a summoner. They're often spat on, beaten and shunned by the other Hellhounds for their specialty so this is not a good class to be no matter the perks.
