Dragons
A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits. Their features vary in the myths of many cultures around the globe. However, there are two distinct cultural traditions of dragons that have taken root in the western world and created two distinct species: the European dragon, derived from European folk traditions and ultimately related to Greek and Middle Eastern mythologies, and the Chinese dragon, with counterparts in Japan (namely the Japanese dragon), Korea and other East Asian countries.

The two traditions may have evolved separately, but have influenced each other to a certain extent, particularly with the cross-cultural contact of recent centuries. The English word "dragon" derives from Greek δράκων (drákōn), "dragon, serpent of huge size, water-snake".

Dragons by Region

  • European: In European folklore, a dragon is a serpentine legendary creature with two pairs of lizard-type legs and bat-type wings growing from its back. A dragon-like creature with two legs (sometimes none) is known as a wyvern.

    In Western folklore, dragons are usually portrayed as evil, with the exceptions mainly in Welsh folklore and modern fiction. This is in contrast to Asian dragons, who are traditionally depicted as more benevolent creatures. In the modern period, the European dragon is typically depicted as a huge fire-breathing, scaly and horned lizard-like creature, with (leathery, bat-like) wings, with four legs and a long muscular prehensile tail. It is sometimes shown with feathered wings, crests, fiery manes, ivory spikes running down its spine and various exotic coloration.

    Dragon's blood often has magical properties: for example in the opera Siegfried it allows Siegfried to understand the language of the Forest Bird.

    Though a winged creature, the dragon is generally to be found in its underground lair, a cave that identifies it as an ancient creature of earth. Possibly, the dragons of European and Mid Eastern mythology are protectors of the earth. However, this is due to speculation and not fact. Not many of these ancient creatures have survived the ever growing human world. The remainders have learned to hide themselves. Perhaps, they have hidden themselves as one of the very races they have hidden from.

  • East Asian: In East Asia, the concept of dragon appears largely in a form of a Long, a beneficent dragon-like creature from Chinese folklore. Another dragon-like creature which appears in the form of Naga, which is prevalent in some Southeast Asian countries with more direct influence from Vedic religion, will be described largely in the article Naga.

  • Chinese: In China, depiction of the dragon can be found in artifacts from the Shang and Zhou dynasties with examples dating back to the 16th century BC. Archaeologist Zhōu Chong-Fa believes that the Chinese word for dragon is an onomatopoeia of the sound of thunder. The Chinese name for dragon is pronounced lóng in Mandarin Chinese or lùhng in Cantonese. Sometime after the 9th century AD, Japan adopted the Chinese dragon through the spread of Buddhism. Although the indigenous name for a dragon in Japanese is tatsu, a few of the Japanese words for dragon stem from the Chinese word for dragon, namely, ryū or ryō. The Vietnamese word for dragon is rồng and the Korean word for dragon is ryong.

    The Chinese dragon is the highest-ranking animal in the Chinese animal hierarchy, strongly associated at one time with the emperor and hence power and majesty (the mythical bird fenghuang was the symbol of the Chinese empress), still recognized and revered. Its origins are vague, but its "ancestors can be found on Neolithic pottery as well as Bronze Age ritual vessels." Tradition has it composed of nine different animals, with nine sons, each with its own imagery and affiliations. It is the only mythological animal of the 12 animals that represent the Chinese calendar.

  • Japanese: Japanese dragon myths amalgamate native legends with imported stories about dragons from China, Korea and India. Like these other Asian dragons, most Japanese ones are water deities associated with rainfall and bodies of water, and are typically depicted as large, wingless, serpentine creatures with clawed feet. Gould writes the Japanese dragon is "invariably figured as possessing three claws".

  • Vietnamese: Vietnamese dragons are symbolic creatures in the folklore and mythology of Vietnam. According to an ancient creation myth, the Vietnamese people are descended from a dragon and a fairy. To Vietnamese people, the dragon brings rain, essential for agriculture. It represents the emperor, the prosperity and power of the nation.

    Like the Chinese dragon, the Vietnamese dragon is the symbol of yang, representing the universe, life, existence, and growth. Extant references to the Vietnamese Dragon are rare now, due to the fierce changes in history that accompanied the sinicization of the Nguyễn Dynasty.


Stages of Life
  • Egg- This is the most harmless of the stages of a dragon's life. In this stage, it is important that the mother keep them incubated and protected from any possible predators and other dangers.

  • Hatchling- Once the dragon has hatched from it's egg, the mother will be around less frequently due to hunting to find food to feed her young. However, it is never safe to assume that because they are tiny and 'cute', that they are defenseless. Young, even newly hatched dragons, are able to defend themselves while their nest mates call the mother.

  • Yearling- Young dragons of a year old are the most destructive. They're always curious and often times their curiosity leads them into play mode. This means destruction of human environments and other beings habitats. This usually leads to their early, and premature demise.

  • Adult- If a young dragons survives its yearling status, it will develop into a full adult. Once this happens, they're not only able to mate and lay eggs, but they're also deadly and capable of very cruel things. They're also very smart and wise. If they're of generous opposition, they will often help the beings who have stumbled upon them and bless them with wealth and power.


Types

  • Blood- All Blood Dragons- despite their name- are entirely green in color and are slightly tougher than basic dragons. These dragons have sail-like fins on their backs and on either side of their tails, and a bony ridge along their foreheads

  • Skeletal/Bone- The Skeletal/Bone Dragon is a unique dragon found only in graveyards or created by a rare illness that slowly and painfully devours the dragon's soul and flesh from the inside out, that is made up entirely of bone, with no scales or flesh, and cannot cast magic.

    It breathes frost, but has no weakness to fire or frost; instead, it has a weakness to magic. The Skeletal/Bone Dragon has no soul. Unlike other dragons, it has no mercy. Instead, it is fueled by a desire to kill and draw blood. This is due to the illness in which devoured it's soul. Along with the dragon's soul, the illness claimed its sanity as well.

  • Elemental- Elemental Dragons have eight types or subspecies.  Each have their own personalities and abilities.

  • Celestial- They are a very majestic dragon and they are the oldest type of Elemental Dragon known. They are said to have mystical or cosmic powers. The Celestial Dragons are best known for their mentoring demeanor and their desire to help or teach. No weaknesses have been discovered due to their rarity.

  • Earth- They are known to be a wise, kind and caring clan. Earth Dragons will do anything to help any other creature. They are one of the oldest clans and have the name "The Healers" or "Guardians".

  • Forest- They are known to be laid back but territorial of their homes. as their name suggests, Forrest Dragons reside primarily in deep, thick forests where they can remain safely hidden from humans and other possible predators such as the larger, more violent Dragon classes. They are weak against fire and flee the presence of any Fire Dragons.

  • Fire- They are known as the "Bad Boys" of the clans. Fire dragons like to push the limits and does not like to take advice from anyone. They are known trouble makers and are notorious for their fiery tempers and dangerous fire breath and magics. They are weak to Water and

  • Water- They are known to be playful and very intelligent although they like to pull pranks on the others. The Water Dragons love to play, although the Fire Dragons are their mortal enemy.

  • Frost- These dragons are colored white and grey or ice blue and have very large, black spikes along their back. They have a frost-based breath attack. Like the Forest Dragons, the Frost Dragons are also weak against fire and flee the Fire Dragons.

  • Sky- They are known to have a in-charge personality and have been labeled as snobbish. They like to float around with an "I don't care" attitude. They do seem to be kind when needed, although they tend to only hang out with other Sky Dragons.

  • Gem- Not much is known about them for they are a mysterious and shy breed. They will hide from any who come near, although they seem to be very friendly when luck grants you their trust. There is a myth that anyone that comes upon one and is trusted, will be granted the "Luck of the Dragon".

  • Metallic Dragons- by far, the most righteous of creatures. This is because they do not like to kill, but instead prefer to drop them off at a prison or dungeon. They differ from chromatic dragons in that their scales reflect in the sunlight, and the color is that of various metals, non precious and precious.

  • Copper- Copper dragons are unique among other dragons in that the color of their spines doesn't match their body color. Instead, they are a shade of blue; usually royal but occasionally a lighter shade like cyan. Their flame is also blue; unheard of in other dragons. They are easy going but can be territorial so anything dragon like living in the same space with them is not a good idea. Like their higher ranking counterparts, Coppers much prefer their own cave and are usually male, with females on extremely rare occasions.

  • Bronze- Bronze dragons are seldom seen alone and about the only chance anyone has of bonding with them is from an egg. They are quite shy and have deep bronze scales. They can be either male or female.

  • Silver- Silvers are supposed to be one of the most beautiful dragons. They are easy-going, but a little too knowledgeable about their own appearance-ie, they can get a little arrogant and conceited at times.

  • Gold- These are also extremely rare. They have brilliant golden colored scales and their spines and horns are only slightly paler. There is a lot of misconception about gold dragons; people seem to think that all golds are queens. Golds, like all the others, can be male or female.  Although female is more common.

  • Chromatic Dragons- Chromatic dragons are a type of dragon distinguished typically by a solid, non-reflective coloring of their scales as well, hence the name. Chromatic dragons are also very commonly evil. There are multiple types of chromatic dragon and are as follows:

  • Black- the most vile-tempered and cruel of all chromatic dragons. They make their lairs in large caves or underground chambers next to swamps or murky ponds. A black dragon's diet consists of fish, mollusks, aquatic critters and some red meat from terrestrial animals.

  • Blue- orderly creatures and are unusual for chromatics in that they keep fairly well-ordered, hierarchical societies. They are more likely to be mocking and manipulative than outrightly cruel or murderous to "lesser" creatures, aided greatly by their natural talents for hallucination. They are infamous for tricking desert travelers into drinking sand or going miles out of their way to avoid nonexistent dust basins.

  • Brown- also called great desert dragons, are wingless dragons with acid breath weapons. A brown dragon typically lairs in a large cave or underground chamber, deep under the desert sand.

  • Green- they revel in combat, and will often attack for no apparent reason. They are highly territorial, and will often view any intrusion into their domain, voluntary or not, as a personal affront. They are extremely cunning and duplicitous foes, and love double-crossing others. A traveler who stumbles into a green dragon's territory might be able to bribe the dragon for safe passage, but more often than not the dragon will pretend to agree and then attack the unsuspecting offender once his or her guard is down.

  • Purple- fond of flying, and daring acrobatics. It likes water, unlike most other dragons, and will often be found in oceans or rivers.

  • Red- covetous, evil creatures interested only in their own well-being, vanity and the extension of their treasure hoards. They are supremely confident of their own abilities and are prone to making snap decisions without any forethought. Red dragons are the most powerful of the chromatic dragons.

  • White- the weakest and the most feral of the classic chromatic dragons, but they are by no means stupid or harmless. They are still powerful enough to overwhelm most humans and have exceptional long-term memories.


Special Types

  • Shadow Dragon- Physically seeming insubstantial, shadow dragons have dark and translucent scales which help it camouflage into the darkness around it. Shadow dragons are often mistaken for black dragons, but their head horns point backwards. A long fringe of spines emerge from the back of the dragon's neck and its powerful tail features a swimming fin.

  • Black Spectrum- The second rarest dragon, they have all black scales with tricolour spines and wing markings. Black Spectrums are fiercely loyal-but often don't get along well with other dragons, although pets and anything that isn't a dragon is fine. They are usually male.

  • Spirit Dragon- The rarest and most elusive of dragons, Spirit dragons are an ethereal mixture of swirling mauves and blues. Their flame is the same color and nobody knows what the effects are of standing in its path. However, nobody is willing to try any experiments either. Spirits are very peaceful dragons and will always try to find another approach to solving a problem other than fighting. They are the largest of the dragons and are usually female, although males have been known.

  • Fang Dragon- Fang dragons are poor flyers, with small muscled wings. Their eyes tend to be either red or orange. Their heads are edged with spikes or horns. Their bodies tend to be covered in bony plates that end in spurs at the joints, and their tails are forked with scythe-like tips.

  • Albino Dragon- So rare that it isn't really ranked, albinos cannot stand the sun, preferring to live underground at all times. They make up for this by having near perfect night vision and echolocation.


Ranks

  • Dragon- Basic Dragons are considered to be the easiest dragon type to fight, although they can provide a challenge. They come in three different colors and can use their pure strength and Dragon Magic.

  • Elder- All Elder Dragons are bronze in color and are significantly tougher than the previous types. Their wings have a unique two-tone pattern, with bronze at the top and a lighter green lower down. As with all dragons, they have immense, inhuman strength and can use Dragon Magic.

  • Ancient- Ancient Dragons are covered with coppery red-and-black scales, with almost no ridges or spikes on their backs, and are capable of mass destruction with one swing of their tails.

  • Serpentine- Serpentine Dragons are found only on remote islands. Their appearance is unique compared to other dragons, most notably their blue hue, lack of scales, and over sized bottom jaws which give them a distinctive under-bite. They are formidable dragons to fight, possessing slightly greater strength than an Ancient Dragon.

  • Revered- Revered Dragons are orange-scaled dragons that have long, flat bodies and broad tails. In addition to their pure strength and magic, they can use Drain, which lets them rapidly drain a victim's life force.

  • Legendary- These dragons have striped black and purple scales, large curved horns, unusually long claws on their white-and-purple wings, and what appear to be compound eyes. Like the Revered Dragons, they can use Drain as well as the traditional dragon abilities and Dragon Magic.

Special Abilities

  • Lung Adaption- The user’s lungs acclimatize and breathe in/on any gaseous mediums, whether hostile or deficient, users lungs also filter away non-gaseous substances such as dust, asbestos, etc. They can breathe toxic gases instead of oxygen and survive mountain, aerial, or terrene air deficiency, which are among the longest and most painful deaths the average human can suffer.



  • Semi-Immortality- Users of this ability never age, and as a result, they stay young forever or at least never suffer the ravages of aging. Because of this, the user will always be at their physical prime. The user will also be immune to aging abilities, such as Age Acceleration or Reversal.



  • Longevity- The user either ages slower than normal for their species or is of the species that have extended life-span.



  • Armored Skin- The users has or can generate an innate armor as a part of their body, which is resistant to attacks, harm or pain and temperature extremes. The armor varies from obvious, physical defenses, such as scales, thick skin/fur, natural shield, armor or shell, in-organic skin, etc, to bone-nodules below skin, particularly wide/sturdy rib-cake, blubber, or simply dense muscle.



  • Elemental Breath- The user can project blasts of elemental force in their lungs in a way that allows them to shape it into bursts, streams, spheres or mist of elemental force from the mouth.


    • Acid Breath- The user is able to manipulate the acid in their lungs in a way that allows them to shape the exhaling of acid. These shapes can include bursts of acid, streams of acid, spheres made of acid, even a mist of it from the mouth.



    • Air Breath- The user is able to manipulate the air in their lungs in a way that allows them to shape the exhaling of air. These shapes can include bursts of air, blades of air, spheres made of air, even the propulsion of oneself from the mouth.



    • Earth Breath- The user is able to project an array of minerals and earthen materials from their mouth. These can range from mudslides, pebbles, crystal shards, and even blasts of sand.


      • Crystal Breath- The user is able to project an array of crystals from their mouth, the more deep breaths the user takes, the stronger the crystal when it is exhaled. It would be considered. The user can exhale shards of crystals in a beam that shreds anything the user chooses. The user can even spit a enormous crystal to cause big damage.



      • Lava Breath- The user can breathe lava from one's mouth, the more deep breaths the user takes, the stronger the lava when it is exhaled. It would be considered stronger than Fire Breath because it doesn't just burn, it also incinerates and dissolves everything it touches, such as rock, metal, and minerals.



      • Metal Breath- The user is able to project different kinds of metals, from simple metals to complex alloys, in an assortment of shapes.





    • Electric Breath- The user can breathe out electricity from their mouths. It can be a straight beam of electricity, or a ball of it. Once it hits the target, it can also jump towards any other near them, creating a chain of electricity.


      • Black Lightning Breath- The user can breathe out black lightning from their mouths. It can be a straight beam of electricity, or a ball of it. Once it hits the target, it can also jump towards any other near them, creating a chain of electricity.





    • Energy Breath- The user is capable of projecting energy blasts from their mouth. Said energy can either be simple or continuous beams.



    • Fire Breath- The user is able to manipulate the fire in their lungs in a way that allows them to shape the exhaling of fire. These shapes can include bursts of fire, streams of fire, spheres made of fire, etc. from the mouth. Users have thermal resistance in their throats and mouths.


      • Dark Fire Breath- The users of this power can breath dark fire in any way, shape or form. The size of the flames, the destructive force, the temperature, the color of the fire, the distance the flames go, etc.



      • Holy fire Breath- The user can breathe out holy flames in any way, shape or form. They can control the size of the flames, the strength, etc. This may have more purifying effects than destructive effects.



      • White Fire Breath- The users of this power can breath white fire in any way, shape or form. The size of the flames, the destructive force, the temperature, the color of the fire, the distance the flames go, etc.





    • Shadow Breath- The users of this power can breathe shadow from within oneself in any way, shape or form. The size of the shadow, the destructive force, the concentrated focus of the shadow, the distance the shadow can go, properties etc. are determined by the user.



    • Sonic Breath- The user is able to manipulate the sound in their lungs in a way that allows them to shape the exhaling of sound. These shapes can include bursts of sonic energy, streams of loud energy, spheres made of sound, even the sound waves of oneself from the mouth.



    • Water Breath- The user is able to generate water form inside their body and expel it out the mouth in various ways. From water bullets, streams with the force of a fire hose, all the way to controlling the temperature of the water from boiling to chilling cold.


      • Ice Breath- The user is able to manipulate energy that can manifest as ice or freezing cold in their lungs in a way that allows them to shape the exhaling of ice and cold. These shapes can include bursts, streams, spheres, or a cloud of it from the mouth.








  • Enhanced Durability- The user's physical durability (ability to endure/resist damage) is extremely high, allowing them to take numerous blows of internal or external assaults before succumbing to the effects.



  • Enhanced Stamina- Users can operate on a low power setting, allowing them to operate for an extended amount of time. They can hold their breath for longer periods of time and remain calm through stressful or painful situations, tolerate extreme hunger, unbearable thirst, and strong urges to sleep.



  • Enhanced Intelligence- The user has intelligence that is significantly above standard genius level intellect. One is gifted with higher mental faculties such as a more powerful memory, better calculation skills, greater reasoning skills, and a more superior learning capacity. At this stage, an individual can often come up with unique and original ideas that elevates the thinking of humanity to new levels.



  • Enhanced Strength- Users have incredible ability to defy weight limitations of the member of their race, but not completely break them. Dense, lengthy, or overweight items are easy to move and simple to use in nearly any manner. Users can crush, lift, throw, or catch items of great weight.



  • Enhanced Vision- Users have eyes enhanced to see with amazing clarity/detail, distance, or color, perhaps even in a different spectrum of light or into another dimension.



  • Fear Masking- The user is capable of suppressing their fear and drawing upon superhuman reserves of courage and/or fearlessness allowing them to act/react normally in dangerous situations like combat, rescue operations, etc.



  • Flight- User can fly or otherwise move through the air using varying methods. Some possibilities include using one or more forms of energy, wings or similar structures, or even mimicking or becoming an animal that can fly. Users are generally able to Levitate, and Glide as well.



  • Magic Immunity- The user is invulnerable to most, if not all, forms of magic and magical powers. Advanced users may be able to select which spells they can be affected by.



  • Natural Weapons- The user possesses some form of natural weaponry, including claws, fangs, horns, beaks, clubbed tails, etc., and know how to use them.



  • Omnilingualism- User can speak, write, understand and communicate in any language including computer codes, languages they have never been heard before, sign language (even lip-reading), illegible words, and backwards speech and writing with little or no training. User may even communicate with animals or read body language. This ability works by either or both of two faculties:


    • Linguistic Assimilation- know another one's language through physical contact.



    • Projective Omnilingualism- emit a field that translates every language spoken inside the it, causing everyone understand what others are speaking.



    • Receptive Omnilingualism- the translation of any written language into the user's own native tongue, or through subliminal intuition of what by physical communication means. This ability may even employ telepathic faculty, where the psychic energy is read (by hearing or sight) to understand what the message is meant to convey.


    Usually this ability is reciprocal, so that the user and the subjects can understand and communicate with one another efficiently.



  • Regenerative Healing Factor- The user can rapidly regenerate, in other words, they recreate lost or damaged tissues, organs and limbs, sometimes slowing, or even stopping, aging. The rate and amount of healing varies widely (see Levels of Regeneration), some can regrow missing limbs, others must put the limb back in place for rapid regeneration. They are generally in very good physical shape as their bodies are constantly reverting to healthy state.


Dragon Magic
The user is capable of performing dragon-related magical feats, often either taught by a dragon, siphoning magic from a dragon, being magically link with a dragon, or being a dragon. But it truly depicts to magic that is exerted by dragons, since most dragons are described as magical creatures to their very bones, the source of their magic is unknown. The user has the ability to wield this form of magic to cast spells and other magical styles.

Basic Spells

  • Draconic Infusion- The user can infuse objects (usually a weapon), beings or powers with draconic power, empowering and energizing them and allowing the user to manipulate their qualities and efficiency.



  • Animal Allegiance- A spell for help from the beasts of the wild, who come to fight in your defense.



  • Aura Whisper- A spell that reveals the life forces of any and all around the caster.



  • Battle Fury- A spell that enchants your nearby allies' weapons, allowing them to attack faster.



  • Bend Will- Your voice bends the very stones to your will. As it gains power, animals, people, and even werewolves must do your bidding.



  • Clear Skies- A spell that will clear away fog and inclement weather.



  • Cyclone- A spell that summons a whirling cyclone that sows chaos among your enemies.



  • Disarm- a spell that will rip the weapon from an opponent's grasp.



  • Dismay- a spell that, when cast, will cause the weak  to tremble and flee in terror.



  • Drain Vitality- A spell that will coax both magical and mortal energies from your hapless opponent.



  • Valmaceid- A spell which has high defensive properties against the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind. It is possible to enchant armor with this spell. However, the components required for the casting of the spell are expensive.



  • Vas Gluudo- A spell which creates a magic barrier the size of a small shield.



  • Recovery- Can be cast as either Share Fatigue, Minor Healing, Major Healing, or Great Healing



  • Resurrection- Major Healing variant.



  • Raphas Seed- This spell can completely prevent a target from moving by entangling them within magical ropes.



  • Flow Break- Dispel  other types of magic.



  • Disenchant (kaiju)- Spell which negates the effect of curses and spells with a duration (sleep, control, etc). Can only be used by high-level priests.



  • Dicleary (Detoxify)- Cleansing spell that will remove toxins from the body.



  • Frenzy- Drives target stack of creatures frenzy. Frenzied stack considers all other creatures and war machines its personal enemies and attacks the nearest one with redoubled rage.



  • Suffering- Weakens the target enemy unit to decrease its Attack.



  • Confusion- Makes creatures in target enemy stack forget what they are doing on a battlefield. Some of the affected creatures will forget to use shooting attacks and retaliation strikes. (The spell does not work on undead, elemental and mechanical units.)



  • Vulnerability- Destroys armor of the target, reducing their defense. Can be cast several times on a single stack, but defense will not go lower once the target reaches their lowest point.



  • Decay-  Corrupts the ground targeted by the caster, causing anything the spell touches to begin to decay.



  • Eldritch Arrow- Shoots magic missile to deal non-physical damage to the selected enemy creature.



  • Asha Uses All- The caster gains energy for each ally or enemy destroyed during combat.



  • Sorrow- Decreases morale and luck of selected enemy creature.



  • Weakness- Causes the selected enemy unit to inflict less damage in combat. Spellpower determines the duration of effect.



  • Elemental Magic- The user can utilize different elements as a form of magic. They can use different spells to formulate their elemental quantities and energies for many uses.

But it truly depicts to magic that is exerted by dragons, since most dragons are described as magical creatures to their very bones, the source of their magic is unknown. The user has the ability to wield this form of magic to cast spells and other magical styles.

[*][b]Frenzy-[/b] Drives target stack of creatures frenzy. Frenzied stack considers all other creatures and war machines its personal enemies and attacks the nearest one with redoubled rage.
